Assign Text Pages to Groups

Wednesday 10 March, 2010

There are two basic ways to assign a text page you just created to a collection of pages (also called group of text pages). Here are the basic steps to do that:

Goto your administration panel -> Site Content -> Text Pages and do the following:

  1. Find the page you want to assign to one or more groups of text pages.
  2. Next to the name of the page there should be a red marked text called Not Assigned.
  3. Click the Not Assigned link a popup dialog should appear with all the relevant text groups.
  4. Tick the entries to assign and click Apply Changes (entries in pink indicate hidden groups)
  5. Close the dialog

The second method to assign text pages to groups is available from the Content Management page. To get there, goto your Administrator panel -> Site Content -> Content Management.

Then do the following:

  1. Select the group you want to assign a text page. (Content Type must be Text Pages Collection)
  2. Click 2 times the row or click the leftmost icon of the row where you see the group to list the assigned pages.
  3. At the bottom of list page that lists all the text pages assigned to the group click the entries button
  4. Mark the pages you want to assign to the group.
  5. Click insert and the page is assigned to the current text group.

Optionally you can change the order to display the pages within the group. Tick the boxes on the left then setup the order to display using the sequence column edit boxes. Once you assign a page to a text group the page should become visible on the web-front under the group.
